Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Heritage Barrel Tennessee Whiskey 2025 Release — a 100-proof single barrel expression matured in high-toast, low-char Heritage Barrels that invert the traditional American whiskey barrel construction, producing a flavor profile unlike anything else in the Jack Daniel's permanent lineup.
Standard American whiskey barrels are heavily charred on the interior — a high-char layer that drives vanilla, caramel, and barrel sweetness into the spirit during aging. Heritage Barrel inverts that approach: the barrels are toasted at high temperature before a light char is applied. The high-toast layer creates more of the caramel and wood sugar extraction that time and temperature drive into the whiskey, while the lighter char means less of the bold charcoal-driven smoke character typical of standard Jack Daniel's aging. The result is a softer, more honey-forward oak profile: warmer and more approachable, with candied fruit character replacing the deeper charred oak of the standard lineup.
Bottled at 100 proof as a single barrel and now a permanent expression in the Jack Daniel's portfolio, Heritage Barrel is among the distillery's most accessible premium single barrel offerings.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a Heritage Barrel? A barrel toasted at high temperature before receiving a light char — the reverse of standard barrel construction. High toast extracts more caramel and wood sugars; light char preserves the toasted wood sweetness without the bold charcoal smoke of standard barrels.
- Is Heritage Barrel a permanent release? Yes — the 2025 release establishes Heritage Barrel as a permanent expression in the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Collection, available year-round.
- How does Heritage Barrel compare to Single Barrel Select? Single Barrel Select uses standard new American oak barrels and is bottled at 94 proof; Heritage Barrel uses high-toast, low-char barrels and is bottled at 100 proof. Heritage Barrel is softer and more honey-forward; Single Barrel Select is bolder and more classically oak-driven.
